Creamy Berries

If you are in the mood for a light, but filling dessert, this is it.  Creamy Yogurt is so rich and creamy, I can eat it without any sweetener,  but when I have this dessert, I like to put a bit of stevia into it.  Don’t add too much stevia  or it will taste bitter (and herb-like).   My daughter and I like to pile on all of the optional goodies, but Bryan likes it with just the berries and creamy yogurt.

I admit that when I first made this, I wanted to add a bit of honey, but it really didn’t take long on this diet to appreciate flavors without having to pile sweeteners on.  Besides, the first time I made this was with plain old store-bought yogurt.  Creamy Yogurt is so much better. When I want a late-night dessert, this is my choice.  It doesn’t  feel heavy in my stomach when I go to bed.

Creamy Berries

1 serving

 1/3 cup berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry)

1/2 cup Creamy Yogurt (or Extra Creamy or Extreme Cream)

1/8 tsp green stevia (optional)

2 tablespoons unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)

1-2 tablespoons chopped almonds (optional)

1-2 tablespoons ground flax seeds (optional)

Place berries in bowl.  Mix stevia and yogurt together.  Spoon yogurt onto berries.  Sprinkle optional items over all.
